What is a test simulation?

It is an imitation of tasks that appear on the real test.  Each simulation offers three components: Reading, Listening and Writing, and each component has three tasks that need to be completed within the allotted time. Our Free Test offers a shortened version as an example.

What do I need to use your training program?

You will need a computer with a web browser and internet connection. For the Listening Comprehension part, you will need speakers or headphones. You can also use a tablet or smartphone, however, we recommend using a computer.

Are there any differences between the real YKI test and your simulations?

At the real test, the answers are marked on paper.  We excluded some task formats, such as "open answer" and "true or false". So, our tasks are presented in Multiple Choice format. Finally, the entire Speaking component is not included.

Are there only 10 simulations? Can I access more?

From your Control Panel, you will be able to purchase 5 additional simulations. We also offer Reading and Listening add-ons (I.e. access to additional exercises in just two components.)

How many times can I take each simulation?

Each test simulation can be taken twice. Additional Reading exercises can be taken as many times as you wish.

When will I get my results?

The results are instant in the components Textförståelse and Talförståelse. Your written submissions will be marked within three days and you will get an email message when it is done. You can also visit the Results page in your Control Panel. 

Can I register for YKI through your website?

No, registrations take place on the official website. We recommend to book early!

What result should I have to be able to apply for Finnish citizenship?

Your result should be at least "3", in any of the following combinations: "Speaking + Writing", "Listening + Writing", or "Reading + Speaking".
